Toshiba Satellite R830-1GZ Windows XP drivers…

Hi there,
just bough myself a Toshiba Satellite R830-1GZ since I got a great deal and is going to be in place of my EEEPC 1215N…. as I stated in the previous posts, I love XP so the great thing about Toshiba R830 is that you can find all the drivers and utilities for XP on R830.

I’ve made a package with everything you need for an R830-1GZ (no 3g module or fingerprint sensor)

Intel Chipset 9.2.0.1030
Intel Graphics: 6.14.10.5394
Intel HDMI Audio Driver: 5.14.00.3074
Audio Realtek: 5.10.00.4240
Intel LAN: 15.7
Ricoh SDCARD Reader: 2.11.17.02
Toshiba Touchpad ON/OFF: 2.5.5.0
Toshiba WiFi Key: 3.0.0.9
Atheros WiFi
Toshiba USB3: 2.0.32.0
TOSHIBA Sleep Utility 1.4.1.7F
TOSHIBA Common Module V6.07.02 (FN KEYS)
TOSHIBA HDD Protection 2.3.0.3
TOSHIBA Controls v3.37.4310 (Buttons on TOP RIGHT)
TOSHIBA Power Saver 7.14.03
Toshiba Bluetooth Stack 6.00.0601.0
Bluetooth Filter Driver Package Atheros 1.0.4

I had no problem so far with these last driver from Toshiba Website, only one thing happened to me, everything was fine on Windows XP English version. In the Windows XP Italian edition, on the contrary, the WiFi Fn-F8 could trigger on/off only the bluetooth. Looking at the app/registry settings I’ve found that the WiFi card Vendor/Model/Subsys were not in the app list of “managable” devices.

So what I did I replaced one all the registry keys in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Toshiba

from

VEN_168C&DEV_002A&SUBSYS_661211AD

to

VEN_168C&DEV_002B&SUBSYS_661311AD (that was my device ID for some reason)

and that did the job (I could not remember with or without a reboot 🙂 )

Drivers here (self extracting package 165MB)

PS I’ve installed Windows XP Sp3 from DVD using Nlite before to integrate the latest SATA drivers

is better if you install the software to manage properly FN+F5… but it’s up to you.

I strongly suggest to anyone not familiar in installing OSX on PCs to buy a sata hard drive and do the install there so you can easily go back to a working system if you have problems etc..
